Sweet Cherry Pie filling
Thick sweet cherry pie filling with a touch of maple syrup.
- 6 cups organic pitted sweet dark cherries cut into fourths
- ¼-⅓ cup maple syrup
- ⅓ cup arrowroot powder
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 1½ tsp vanilla
Add all ingredients to a medium sized pot.
Bring to a simmer, stirring every 30 seconds cook for 4-5 minutes until thick.
Pour mixture into a glass air tight container and chill for up to 4 days until ready to pour into prepared pie dish. We use this recipe for other types of berries too.
