Self Care Gift Basket
Watching for a Need
There is always someone who could use a little extra love. Paying attention to what they need helps in doing something specific for them. A new mama might enjoy a self care basket, where as a busy mom who doesn’t exactly have time for self care items at that time might enjoy a meal on a weeknight. A person who is ill is likely not going to enjoy a self care basket, but they might appreciate some soup or help cleaning up their house when they are better. Watching for what the needs are and how to find something that may apply to them is great. But really, if you just want to grab a bath bomb and drop it off to show someone you care, do that- its a simple thing but it can go a long way.
For this basket I added a few different things, this lovely friend is caring for many people right now and I sometimes worry she forgets to take time for herself. She is a lovely woman and I wanted her to know how much I care and appreciate the example she is to me. Her gift basket was of things that I knew she would like because she and I have a lot of holistic conversations.
I put a bit of tissue paper in the bottom to help pop the items up out of the basket. It was fun to put together and she truly deserved it.
This is what I added to her basket:
-A bath bomb
-A rag tied up with twine
-Exfoliating body gloves (The more I learn about fabric frequencies I find there are much better options)
-An elderberry kit jar (you can find the recipe for elderberry kit jar on this post: https://nourishedlifestylehome.com/elderberry-gift-jar/
-Homemade toothpaste powder (I will post more about this later)
-Nuts
Find things that work
If you are not up for making an entire gift basket, just make it what you can do. If a full gift basket is too much, you can easily put together some simple things or even just one item from the suggested gift basket. Here are some ideas of other items that are easy quick gifts to show someone you care:
- A Card with a little note
- A pressed flower
- A simple healthy cookie mix
- Salsa with a bag of chips (keep in mind seed oils when purchasing chips)
- A bag of nuts
- A bar of homemade soap (make sure you only give this to someone who would not be offended)
- A drink such as sparkling cider, kombucha or organic lemonade.
- Herbal teas
- Epsom salt soaks
And maybe…
Sometimes its just too much to add onto your list of things to do, sometimes you just simply can’t give gifts. A text, a phone call, a kind comment, a smile. Just being a caring person to others, and …. remember you need to treat yourself well too. Have a happy day and thanks for reading.
