Cranberry Sauce
Homemade cranberry sauce not only tastes sooo much better, it also is good for you!
- 12 ounce bag of fresh cranberries (organic if possible)
- 1/4-1/3 cup honey or maple syrup (I like sour so I go for the less sweet)
- 1/4 cup filtered water
- 1/2- 3/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
- 1 tsp organic orange zest
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Wash cranberries and pick out any squishy cranberries and compost them.
- Add cranberries, sweetener and filtered water to a pot. Bring to a boil then cover and turn heat to medium-low and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Remove pot from heat and stir in the orange juice, zest and cinnamon. Add more sweetener 1 tsp at a time if desired.
- Pour mixture into a quart jar and store in the fridge until serving.
- Happy Thanksgiving!
